Siskiyou County is no stranger to the challenges of wildfire, severe weather, and other natural hazards. Preparing for these events is critical to keeping our communities safe, connected, and resilient. That’s why the Siskiyou County Local Transportation Commission, in collaboration with various local partners has launched the Siskiyou County Evacuation and Preparedness Plan—a countywide effort to strengthen evacuation planning and improve emergency response strategies.
This plan will take a close look at:
-
Vulnerable areas and communities at greater risk
-
Key evacuation routes, roads, and bridges
-
Transportation needs, including support for residents without access to a vehicle
-
Coordination between agencies, first responders, and the public
But we can’t do it alone. Community input will be a vital part of the process. Residents will have opportunities to share their experiences, concerns, and ideas through workshops, surveys, and online forums. Your feedback will help shape a plan that works for everyone—because when it comes to evacuation and preparedness, every voice matters.
