Regional Transportation Improvement Program

Learn more about the RTIP.

The Regional Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP) is a comprehensive plan that outlines priority transportation projects within Siskiyou County. These projects include improvements to highways, local roads, public transit systems, and active transportation infrastructure such as bike lanes and pedestrian pathways.

The RTIP is developed through a collaborative process that involves local stakeholders, public input, and technical analysis. The program identifies projects that are crucial for enhancing regional connectivity, safety, and mobility. Once the RTIP is finalized, it is submitted to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) for inclusion in the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

Learn more about the STIP.

The State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is a multi-year capital improvement program managed by the California Transportation Commission (CTC). It allocates state and federal funds to priority transportation projects across California, as identified in the various Regional Transportation Improvement Programs submitted by RTPAs and MPOs across the State of California.

Projects included in the STIP are selected based on their potential to improve transportation efficiency, safety, and accessibility. The SCLTC plays a pivotal role in advocating for Siskiyou County’s transportation needs, ensuring that the county receives appropriate funding for critical infrastructure projects. By securing state and federal resources, the SCLTC can implement projects that enhance the county’s transportation network and support regional growth and development.
